We moved from Maryland to Wilmington NC. Bates showed up on time with the lead driver, Cameron, and crew of 5. They were friendly and worked their butts off in 95 degree temps for 7 hours. Everything was well packed and arrived at our new house as promised. Cameron and another crew of 3 unloaded at our new house and we had the same experience. They were polite, eager to please and exceptional careful. I can't imagine finding a better moving company. Bates Moving & Storage did an amazing job moving us from Maryland to long Island NY. There whole team was oustanding including Jeff the driver and especially Eren, who did a top notch job meticulously protecting our expensive art work collection of expensive paintings and collectibles for the move. Everything was handled with extra care and delivered on-time. I would give this company and the Team moving our lifetime valuables 6 stars on google if I could. Dont forget to ask for Erin if you hire them becouse you items will be in good hands and he will go above and beyond any other mover. A team of 3 professional gentlemen... Bobby, Cameron, and Savon helped moved my mom. It occurred right after a terrible blizzard and the crew had to navigate icy walk ways and 3 trees that had fallen blocking the driveway.  They were quick, kind, and extremely thorough. I had a great experience with Bates Moving last Friday- the four guys that moved me were so professional. I made the mistake (unknowingly) with not wrapping my mattresses but Cam came prepared and it was a simple fix. I moved from a 3rd floor apartment- so no easy task but they were efficient & awesome!! Not to mention, Bates was significantly more affordable than other companies I received quotes from. The lower price did not impact the quality- I could not have been more relieved that I chose Bates. I had a nightstand that was damaged in transit but they took care of it and I received the nightstand back today and it looks good as new! Huge thank you to Cam and the guys. The team from Bates Moving & Storage - Cameron, Robert, Ray, and Bobby - did an excellent job packing up our 2,825 sq. ft. home for our cross country move!  If we could give them higher than 5 stars, we certainly would!  They worked well together and got the job done in a timely manner!  They took their time and expertly packed everything! If I could give them a higher rating we would... 5 stars is not enough to express the quality, care and professional service provided by our moving team.  This is the second time we worked with Aaron & Cameron.  Beyond their knowledge and skill in moving some difficult pieces with ease, they treated us like family and our belongings as if they were their own. We recently moved from Delaware to South Carolina and our experience with Bates Moving from start to finish was absolutely fantastic!  5 stars aren't enough, they deserve 10!  This is a family run business and  the attention they provided through every position and level of the organization can't be beat.  We had logistical things we had to address for our move, and Bill Sr, Bill Jr, and the  rest of the team always went out of their way to ease our anxieties.   They are great people. John, Bobby, and Aaron from Bates Moving and Storage did the local delivery for my United snap move from across the country.  It was a terrible day weather-wise - lots of rain, wind, and cold - but despite those challenges, they did an A+ exceptional job.  They were careful and respectful, communicative, and hard working.  Everything was placed where it was supposed to go, in great condition, and they took special precautions to avoid tracking in water or my things getting exposed to the rain. I give this company 5 stars all the way! As a person who had only moved twice before and had no idea what I was doing, they made it super easy and definitely worth the money. They were responsive and knowledgeable when I called, and when they came out for the estimate. They were cheaper than the other movers I checked into and arrived axactly at the time they said they would. Their three man team was very professional and very respectful of my belongings and my new construction home (covering the carpet, etc.) They were also done in less time than the estimate. We used Bates to move my Mother In Law from MD to Jacksonville. They were very responsive and did a remote estimate since they could not go onsite. Their quote was accurate and 1/2 what others wanted (including the POD option). The office kept us informed every step of the way and the movers were efficient and professional. Great service, great price. 1/3  the price of 2 Men and Truck, while being more polite and more timely.   Moved my Mom into assisted living. They had an "opening" so we needed to move ahead quirkily. I can't say enough about Bates!    Not only did all of our belongings arrive in excellent condition it was done professionally and with friendly, hardworking men!  We hit a snag moving in as the owners did not leave until 4:00..... that didn't stop Bates!!  They moved us in even though it would be a 12 hour day for them!  At 7:30 we had pizza and a few laughs! We contacted Bates to handle our move because we had heard good things about the company. We are so happy we did. They arrived to pickup our household items on time and the driver was very helpful and professional. Once loaded they stored our items for us as our new house wasn’t ready. When we closed we again contacted Bates to deliver our stuff. Again, they arrived on time with a crew of folks to unload and place our items where we wanted them. They were very patient with us as my wife changed her mind a couple of times. All in all, a great experience. I highly recommend you talk to them. United agent Bates Moving in Salisbury, Maryland did a fantastic job for our inter-state move from Maryland's Eastern Shore to southeast Virginia. The preplanning, estimating, delivery of packing supplies all went smoothly, as did the actual Moving Days. Our full house required two vans and Bates went out of their way with staff re-scheduling and overtime to provide drivers and helpers to make sure we were out of one and into our new house on schedule. Bates Moving did a great job moving us from Tilghman Island to Key West.  They successfully dismantled and transported a large grand piano, along with a houseful of furniture, without scratching or damaging anything.  At the destination, where local labor is scarce, they managed to get expert workers to travel several hours from Miami to unload the furniture and re-assemble the piano. We used Bates Moving/United Van Lines for a move from Grasonville, MD to Atlanta, GA in early summer 2018. They did an outstanding job from providing a very thorough estimate to having an extremely knowledgeable moving crew who took great care with my parent’s treasured possessions. They answered any questions and provided much needed assurances throughout the moving process and Donna Bates who works in their office was such an asset!! Even their packers were awesome. I cannot say enough positive things about this family owned business. Everyone I worked with throughout the process was extremely professional and pleasant to work with. Bates Moving is incredible.  They moved my elderly parents from their home in Ocean Pines to assisted living in Philadelphia.  This was not a straight forward move as some items were staying in their home and others were being moved to assisted living.  Donna in the office and with whom I shared numerous emails and phone conversations, was very personable and efficient.  I felt very reassured that Bates would make sure that everything went smoothly for my parents and it did. The experience could not have gone better, from the initial estimate to the delivery itself. Bates Moving and Storage kept us informed every step of the way. They treated our home and possessions (and us!) with total respect. They packed and moved our two-story home, disassembling (as needed), then reassembling furniture upon arrival. Absolutely the best decision I ever made with this move. They were highly recommended to me and I can see why. From the initial call for info until the truck pulled away after delivering my furniture they were indeed professional. They took such care with each piece and even all those boxes. Excellent company, excellent staff!  As far as I am concerned, they are the only reputable mover in town.  Don't be fooled (like I almost was) by the other guys who will show up at your house with a rental truck and some sketchy helpers.  Do your homework before you choose! We had an excellent experience with Bates.  Our team was extremely professional, pleasant and took pride in what they were doing.  Our property was treated with respect and the team went above board doing things as I would ask with not one complaint. The team never stopped working and really didn't take any breaks until the truck was totally loaded and then unloaded and that everything was in the right place. Given the shaky reputation moving companies have, we approached our cross country move with trepidation, especially since we were moving some hard to replace items and small boats and motors. The sense of confidence Bates left with us was justified.  Everything arrived intact and on time.  All the personnel we dealt with were competent and cooperative. The crew of three showed up on-time on a rainy day.  They laid out mats and runners to protect the floor.  The guys moved steadily all morning and cleared the house by noon.  We then traveled the 23 miles to our new home where again, the team of three laid out mats and runner and worked, in the cold and damp, steadily until they were unloaded.  They took furniture apart and reassembled it and even moved a few pieces that were in the new house that needed moving.  The crew was friendly and professional and I would recommend Bates to anyone in the area in need of movers!!

The office staff is extremely friendly and everything was performed fast and timely. Two guys loaded a two-bedroom place in about an hour and unloaded at the new place in the same amount of time. I was in charge of remodeling our office a few years ago. I had never done anything like this before and it was $150,000 job. The person I purchased the workstations from recommended Bates for the storage, moving and installation of the workstations. It was the best recommendation I have ever had. We had the product delivered to Bates and they installed the workstations on weekends for 4 weeks in a row. Bill Von Paris made sure everything was done to perfection; he was always there working right along with his crew. Every member of the team was well trained. They were never late. They never complained or used inappropriate language. They always asked if there was anything else they could do to help me. If I made a suggestion that was not part of the original plan, they made every effort to accommodate my changes. It was always "We can do that." My office thinks I am amazing because of the work they did. I can never thank them enough. In fact, I am in charge of expanding the office again and Bates is making it happen, again on weekends. He even fixed my broken file cabinet the last time he was here when he saw the door didn't close properly. Remodeling an office? $150,000. Having it completed on time every time?
